Setting Your Career Goals: Solidify It by Writing It Down!

Your ability to discipline yourself to set clear goals, and then to work toward them every day, will do more to guarantee your success than any other single factor - Brian Tracy, author and motivational speaker

As a carer coach for almost 20 years, I know, if you do nothing else, it's important to write down your goal. Everyone will have varying degrees of organizing their change because based on styles we will go about it differently. But, do write it down and be open to how your direction begins to change and movement towards your goal happens.  And, seek good counsel. Get your board of directors in place. I will talk more about board of directors later in the week.

Chronological or Functional Resume: Which Is Best?

For the Bay Area, a Chronological resume is the way to go. And, although people may advise to use a functional resume, to fill in a gap or to transition a career direction, I will always recommend a Chronological resume. I have helped people time and time again work through a gap or make a transition with the use of a very effective and targeted Chronological resume. When a recruiter or hiring manager receives a Functional resume, often the thought goes immediately to what is the applicant trying to cover up by using this format.  If you aren't certain how to work through this recommended resume style for your specific career need, I'd love to assist you.

Have a great week!                        Marianne cell 408-295-6656
